Do you know that there are scholarships available for
the Pieceable Retreat? If you are a member of QSC, interested in
attending the retreat, and think you might qualify, please contact
our President
Karen Kendo.
Packets have been mailed to the
membership. May 7th is the earliest possible
postmarked date for returning registration packets. Please DO NOT mail
before May 7th. All registrations will be processed as they are
received after May 7th.

Our
President has announced a new quilters challenge! |

COVERING SC KIDS CHALLENGE
GUIDELINES
We are challenging every member of QSC to make at least
one Covering SC Kids quilt. We will be making quilts for
the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in Greenville,
Florence, Charleston, and Columbia.
1. Quilt size MUST be 36” by 48”. The size is set
by the hospitals - please do not deviate from this.
2. Challenge quilts may be turned in at Spring
Meeting 2012 in Sumter or at Pieceable Retreat 2012 at
White Oak. If you cannot attend either of those
meetings please send your challenge quilt with a fellow
quilter who is attending or contact your district
representative or a board member.
3. If you wish to put a
label on your quilt denoting
who made it and where you are from, every effort will be
made to place your quilt in a hospital in your area.

FIBER FANTASIA
III
A special “May Day”
exhibit will be featured along with other new and
innovative fiber art as this popular show by the
Thread Heads returns for the third time to Duke
Energy’s World of Energy. These eleven local artists
gather as a group to critique and support each
others' work then share it with the public through
exhibition and competition.
An opening
reception will be held Saturday May 5, 2012 from 2
to 4 p.m.
Co-sponsored by
Duke Energy and Blue Ridge Arts Council. The World
of Energy is located at 7812 Rochester Highway (Hwy.
130), Seneca. World of Energy Hours: Monday to
Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday Noon to 5 p.m.

QSC On ETV!
Offering their services to the community, QSC members answered
the phone for SC ETV on March 10 during the Carolina Lens
presentation of Uncommon Folk.
